Today we just recorded our seventh song for our album. We plan to release the album on the night of our show at the Hawthorne Theatre, January 8th. The album will consist of many originals and several covers that the backyard blues boys have been honing during their live shows for the past 2 and a half years. Post on our facebook wall to preorder albums.

Be sure to come to our gig at Mississippi Pizza Pub on October 23rd.  We've always enjoyed playing at MPP - it's cozy, laid-back vibe is really nice - in the past we've felt comfortable trying out new material here - it's a whole lot of fun!

Mississippi Pizza Pub is located at 3552 N Mississippi Ave. The music starts at 6:00pm - we hope to see you there!

Hey everyone, we'll be playing a show October 17, 2010 at the Hawthorne Theater located at SE Hawthorne and Cesar Chavez Blvd. (a.k.a. 39th). 

Opening for the BBBs will be local folk artist Laura Chase, and a very unique SE Portland band - Half Way There.

At the end of the summer we had our first chance in months to all get together in the studio to record. The result of our first session is Rock Me, a song originally by Slim Harpo. The track was recorded, mixed and mastered by Garren Epley. You can listen to this song at our music page.

Samantha Hooper is featured  on vocals, with Wade Hilts on the blues harp. The song includes solos from Hilts, Reuben Unrau (lead guitar) and Jason Morrison (keyboard), and keeping time and the baseline are Garren Epley (drums) and Louie Leager (bass).

We plan to be back in the studio in October and over Thanksgiving break in November (we are in school after all), so keep checking back for more tracks.  We are working to put a CD together in time for the holidays.
